• Scott Majidi is a Persian-Australian screen composer living and working in Sydney, Australia. Scott’s musical journey began learning Trumpet and Piano as a child in his regional hometown of Albany, Western Australia. He would later add vocals, trombone, guitar, and ukulele to his musical repertoire over the years.

In 2013, Scott moved to Perth to undertake an undergraduate degree in Screen Production. Hungry for practical experience, he took on any film production role which came his way, allowing him to be constantly submerged in the enchanting world of filmmaking. Toward the end of his undergraduate degree, Scott was being tapped on the shoulder by his cohort to write music for their short films. Scott's eagerness to utilise his music skills, paired with his newly acquired interest in filmmaking, culminated in Scott journeying from the West Coast to Sydney in 2019 to study his Masters of Screen: Music at the Australian Film, Television, Radio School (AFTRS).

Since graduating from AFTRS, Scott has undertaken freelance work across multiple mediums including short films, online media content, live performance and advertising.

As a mixed-race grandchild of Scottish and Iranian migrants, Scott finds nothing more enriching than to see LGBTQIA+, CALD and Disability represented within the ever-expanding screen and media landscape in Australia. His work in music and film is underpinned by a strong desire to advocate for underrepresented communities, reflected in both his creative portfolio and teaching work. Scott has been able to work on many projects for the Disability-led organisation Bus Stop Films - scoring several of their student films, and participating as a guest lecturer - having had the regular privilege of unveiling the dazzling, wondrous world of screen composition to students living with Disabilities.
